Verdict

Lord Scoundrel landed the Galway Plate in great style with plenty of these behind and this even longer trip should be in his favour, though a 10lb rise makes this more difficult. Ballycasey was beaten just over two lengths into third and has since won a Grade B handicap at Killarney so he's no better off and seems better over shorter than this. Clarcam ran a brilliant race in the Plate though just appeared to run out of stamina in the closing stages and this is further. The veteran Your Busy won the race in 2014 and loves the track though it's difficult to see a teenager winning this ultra-tough event. FOLSOM BLUE has only won once in 18 starts over fences but has run some fine races in similar handicaps. He hasn't run since April but will be primed for this and is taken to double his tally. Realt Mor finally got back to winning ways at Ballinrobe, where he had Mad Brian behind, though that was over 2m1f and the latter will appreciate this trip and looks as though he's been prepared for the race.
