      Verdict

POUNCED looks a sound bet to land this maiden and he is nominated to get the better of Markazzi and Invincible Soul. The selection catches the eye on breeding and he was only narrowly beaten on his debut at Ascot when he chased home Sea Lord. He ran on well once the penny had dropped that day and with that experience under his belt he should take plenty of beating. Markazzi looks the chief danger as he is a well-bred colt and Sir Michael Stoute does well with his juveniles. He is one to note in the market, along with Invincible Soul. This son of Invincible Spirit ran very green on his debut so he should learn plenty for the experience and a better showing is anticipated here. Cultivar and Manhattan Fox are other newcomers worth a market check, but Pounced sets a decent standard and he looks the one to beat.
