Pawan has more to do under a 7lb penalty for his narrow win at Beverley last time and a safer option looks to be Blessed Place, who is preferred to Bold Minstrel. The selection has been running consistently well of late and while getting little respite from the handicapper is taken to make the most of the weight that he receives all round. At the other end of the weights, Bluebok probably would not want any further rain, while Walter Swinburn's Polish Emperor is on a long losing sequence but does come from a yard in form. Cashel Mead probably needs some help from the handicapper and of more interest may be Mick Quinn's recent Windsor winner Bold Minstrel, although a 5lb rise for that success leaves him with more to do. Blessed Place has gone up in the weights for his consistency but he remains in good form and gets the vote.
