Verdict

Berkshire has a touch of class but is in an infrequent winner, though did beat Majeed on the same terms in a Listed race at Windsor last year. Top Notch Tonto has been well below par this season but Zzoro won here last month, his first victory on Turf, so goes on the short-list. Firnas has only had two runs, both at HQ, and won over the trip in May of last year so could be anything while Sgt Reckless won at Doncaster on his first run back with Mick Channon. Awake My Soul made a promising reappearance at York, when Beardwood was behind, and is an uncomplicated ride but he hasn’t won since 2014. GREAT HALL is just starting to slip down the weights again, despite a string of consistent efforts at this level – it might be his turn today.
