In depth

Verdict

GREEN LAGONDA may be able to provide David Evans with a further quick return on his investment; Flying Applause and Tartatartufata complete the short-list. Flying Applause has obvious claims following his six furlong win at this track and he's by no means handicapped out of this although the shorter trip could make him vulnerable. James Given's runner is in fine form and attractively handicapped but she has done her winning with cut in the ground and is opposable unless the rain arrives. Cases can also be made for Brandywell Boy and Hereford Boy but it may be worth taking a chance with David Evans' runner. He scored on his first run for the yard at Folkestone on Thursday having been claimed from a Chepstow claimer and he isn't too badly handicapped. That was his first win since the winter of 2007 but, now that he's gone in again, he may be able to follow up at a track where he has gone well in the past and Green Lagonda may do so again.
