Verdict

CLASSIC CONTOURS is put forward ahead of Perfect Shot and Shemoli in a competitive affair. John Quinn's charge has been a model of consistency since being stepped up to twelve furlongs but has been given every chance by the handicapper. His young pilot is good value for his 7lbs and it could turn out to be a shrewd move to employ his services. Perfect Shot was long odds-on to open his account in a Chepstow maiden which may have given him a boost in confidence whilst the form was given a boost when the runner-up made a winning debut in handicap company. Shemoli made every yard when landing a modest maiden at Pontefract but that form was given a boost too when the runner-up took a similarly poor heat at Catterick next time; he may also have more in the locker. Citizenship makes most appeal of the remainder who are by no means dismissed but we prefer the claims of Classic Contours.
