In depth

Verdict

A moderate contest which is little better than a seller and the suggestion to small stakes is Joshua's Bay. The John Jenkins-trained gelding has tumbled in the weights following a lean spell but has shown a consistent level of form to reach the frame on his last two starts in slightly better company than this so should go well off the same mark on ground that will hold no terrors. Balkirk has solid claims if repeating the form of his third in a useful handicap at Sandown in December but ran no sort of race last time while Uttoxeter winner Barton Nic looks high enough in the weights and Dellone remains out of form. Anzal left previous efforts behind last time but may not be suited by the return to this shorter trip.
