In depth

Verdict

It was a very minor handicap that MAJOR ERADICATOR won at Brighton last week but it was probably a better race than this and, dropped into plating company for the first time with the champion on board, he should complete a quick double. Light The City's best recent form has been on the all-weather and he appears to need further than this on turf and though Ay Tay Tate has produced a couple of reasonable efforts he's still a maiden after 19 starts. Drop The Hammer is another who is more at home over a longer trip but she could prove the main threat as she scored over timber at Sedgefield last week. Valantino Oyster is blinkered for the first time and has generally competed at a slightly higher level so could make his presence felt.
