Pepper Lane pinged the stalls and made all for an easy victory in a C&D handicap last time but the handicapper has reacted with a 9lb rise and a follow-up would be difficult. Saucy Brown dropped into claiming company to score at Hamilton and now back in the winning groove is much respected from this mark though stablemate Amenable is an even more likely winner though his low draw is against him. The once useful Hogmaneigh makes his debut for Mark Johnston but will probably need the run from his poor draw while Arganil appears better on the all-weather these days. Hotham last won at York in July and has dropped 10lb in the ratings subsequently. He'll be winning soon but could have done with a higher draw here. URSULA finished with a real flourish when fourth to Mon Brav at Thirsk last time, her second start since October, and at just 1lb higher than when scoring at Ayr in July she looks ready to win again.
