Verdict

DUKE COSIMO landed a Class 2 handicap here in 2014 and has been gradually working his way back to the sort of form where he can win again. His close third behind Mehronissa at Haydock was his best effort for some time and this looks a good opportunity. Red Pike is well up to this class as he showed with a close third behind See The Sun at York though he could have done without a 2lb rise but Tumblewind found Class 2 company beyond her at Thirsk and finished last. Eccleston was having his first start for David O'Meara when returning to action here in April but was impeded at the start and never recovered so he should do better.
