Verdict

There was a lot to like about Art Correspondent's debut at Windsor, unless you backed the favourite that is, and he's taken to confirm that promise this afternoon. Doctor Parkes and Hawkspur rate the dangers unless the market speaks positively of one of the newcomers. Gary Moore's colt looks the part on paper and headed the market ahead of his debut run but could only finish fourth. However, that was a perfectly satisfactory effort as he ran green and was short of room at a vital stage. The run should have brought him on and he can be expected to improve. Hawkspur certainly did that as he left his debut form behind to run a stablemate close at Windsor. This is a stiff track but the drop back in trip wouldn't appear to be in his favour and he may find the best of these too fast. In contrast, Doctor Parkes should relish the drop in trip as he showed plenty of speed at Ascot until tiring close home. The second has already franked the form and he merits respect. Verlegen is no back number, support for Mister Lightfoot or Triple Aspect would be worth noting but it's Art Correspondent that appeals most.
