Verdict

WIZARDS DUST gets the nomination here. With almost a third of these set to race from out of the weights, Fourpointone, Green 'N' Gold and Lucky Luk complete the shortlist. The last-named struggled with the handicapper after wining at Exeter last October but, with returns available down to fourth place if they all stand their ground, he is no forlorn hope for an each-way steal. Green 'N' Gold has a good record over this course and distance so also merits consideration. He arrives in good heart but the market may be the best gauge as to the expectations of him on the predicted good to firm ground. Fourpointone is versatile regarding his preferred going and, having got back to winning ways at Taunton in March, he is respected as the main danger. However, he now has a career highest mark to overcome so needs to be at his very best to score again. Therefore, it can pay to take a chance with Wizards Dust, who is well treated just now and is set to encounter conditions that suit. It's also worth bearing in mind Donald McCain's gelding has room for improvement over fences and can make the most of what appears to be a fair opportunity today.
