Verdict

Worthwhile form is thin on the ground in this less-than-inspiring finale but supporters should get a run for their money out of recent Folkestone third Low Delta, who is little better than a plater nowadays but ploughed through the mud to land this contest in 2009 and races off a 5lb lower mark this year. Arctic Flow's Plumpton win came out of left field and she may not be able to reproduce it off a 6lb higher mark so we'll give the vote to QUEENSTOWN LAD. Though his Fontwell win was over a much longer trip, the second has won twice over fences since which suggests the form is stronger than it looked at the time and Gary Brown's lightly-raced six-year-old is probably capable of better.
