Verdict

CON ARTIST could be thrown in here and gets a confident vote ahead of Valiant Knight and Aerodynamic. Saeed Bin Suroor has his runners in good form at present so we're hopeful our selection's 225-day absence isn't a factor. If we're right in that assumption he should be winning this, having readily accounted for subsequent Group-placed Fatanah in a Lingfield maiden last term. Of course this will be his first start on turf and that has to be a slight concern but he's bred to go on it and providing the market makes positive noises we'd be confident of his ability to score. Valiant Knight disappointed last time but had previously won over course and distance and that makes Richard Hannon's charge of interest. Again the yard are in form and he should improve for that average display at Salisbury last time, his first in over a month. Aerodynamic looked potentially smart when making a winning debut last term but has struggled since. However, the best of those average runs did come here and this son of Oratorio can improve for trying a mile and a quarter for the first time. Jibrrya can't be totally ruled out although our feeling is he's been harshly punished for winning a Thirsk maiden last year. That said he'll surely have come on for his last outing and the quicker ground will suit, so is clearly of more interest than Professor John who in contrast isn't bred to stay, however we expect Con Artist to beat them all.
