In depth

Verdict

Madam Gaffer was a course and distance winner in selling company last time and can follow up here, with La Marmotte and Cantique likely to prove the biggest dangers. The selection came from the rear to win her race and did so with more in hand than the official margin suggested. She had both Cantique and Tobago Reef behind her on that occasion and despite improvement from Cantique in maiden company since, there is every reason to believe that she can take on that pair and finish in front again. La Marmotte should appreciate this return to 7f, having had insufficient speed to cope with a furlong shorter on her last two starts, but she would still have a bit to find to trouble our selection, Madam Gaffer.
