Verdict

This is a very modest heat and from a shortlist of Francis Cadell, Dragon Slayer, Bold Pursuit, Pennautier and Taylor Maid, we will take a chance on Taylor Maid. The selection is unraced but has plenty to like on breeding, being by First Trump out of a Forzando mare. She could well be the better of the two Robert Cowell runners, although Rowanberry is relate to numerous winners, and a market move would be interesting. Frances Cadell has to be interesting from the David Loder yard. He cost 55,000 guineas and showed some promise on his debut here over seven furlongs. A half-brother to Khabfair, the drop back in trip today might suit him, although some schools of thought reckon he wants further. Over to you, listener. Dragon Slayer ran pretty well over course and distance on his debut and has to be given a chance in a modest heat, while Bold Pursuit has a couple of lengths to find on Francis Cadell on his latest run. From the Paul Blockley yard, Pennautier is one to look out for in the betting and Seattle Robber has shown promise but this trip might be on the sharp side for him. Very few of the others have shown much to date or do not catch the eye on breeding, including Prakara, who is well bred but has shown little in two outings. As we say, it's modest fare which leads us to take a chance on Taylor Maid.
