Verdict

In a modest race, Great Belief gets the call over Grigorovitch, Triffid and Ferrybridge. The selection's third behind Nota Bene stands out as form at this level, that run coming at Windsor in October. He has yet to race on Turf but holds very solid claims if he does. The Barry Hills-trained Grigorovitch is out of a smart mare but showed little on her debut, although she should improve on that. Triffid, a Richard Fahey-trained newcomer, is related to a number of winners so could be interesting, although an inexperienced rider has been booked. Ferrybridge is a half-sister to six winners but will need to improve a good bit on her debut effort to feature, although she drops two furlongs in distance, while Jamie Osborne's 45,000 guineas purchase, Befitting, should be watched for in the betting but his form has not yet set the world alight. As we say, there does not appear to be strength in depth to this race and Great Belief must surely go well.
