Verdict

LONG DISTANCE looks to hold all the aces here and James Fanshawe's 3-year-old is preferred to the likes of Scary Movie and Street Crime. The selection is making his seasonal bow but he showed enough on the racecourse last year to make him the one to beat. Jamie Spencer is doing the steering and it will be a surprise if Long Distance does not provide him with another winner. Scary Movie disappointed in a handicap last time but he had previously run well in this grade at this venue so he could be the one to profit if the selection fails to fire. Street Crime is an imposing type but he failed to settle last time and he looks far from straightforward. John Potts and Spoilt Madame will need to improve to get competitive, and for the winner we are happy to return to the unexposed Long Distance.
