Verdict

Captain Carey will continue to prove tough to beat here, but with the heavens due to open conditions may go against him and fall right for FAVOURITE GIRL, while Atlantic Story and Luscivious are last-time winners with claims. The selection will want a strong pace or some rain to be seen to best effect here, as her optimum trip is probably 6f. However, she did win over 5f on heavy ground at Haydock a couple of seasons back and she comes here in form and still 1lb below that mark, so we will give her the vote. Captain Carey is seeking a hat-trick and is certainly a leading player as a specialist over the minimum distance, but he needs to improve again today and rain would not be entirely to his taste. Atlantic Story will probably find this too short, but a decent clip would suit him, while trip and any ease in the ground would suit Luscivious, who can go well, but may find that the handicapper has him. Go Go Green acts on any ground but is another whom the assessor appears to be controlling and Favourite Girl is the choice.
