Sisa Waqa has signed for French Top 14 club Grenoble on a two-year deal from Australian NRL side Canberra Raiders.
The Fijian joined the Raiders last year and will leave the club in July when he switches code from league to union.
The 29-year-old almost moved to France in 2010 after signing a three-year contract with Montauban, but the deal fell through due to financial difficulties.
"The Raiders have been great for my career and my family and it has been a hard decision for me to make," Waqa said.
"I'm looking forward to finishing my time with the Raiders on a high and I'll keep working hard at training with the boys and hopefully get a chance to play again for them before I leave the NRL."
Grenoble will look forward to adding the powerful winger to their squad and will hope he can reproduce the form he has shown in Australian Rugby League - scoring six tries in 21 appearances.
"He's a real offensive weapon," said Grenoble coach Bernard Jackman. "He has a different profile from the players we currently have in the squad. He can play in positions 11 to 15, but it is on the wing that he can become a star in France."
