England internationals Joe Marler and Owen Farrell have been cited over incidents in European action with their clubs at the weekend.
Saracens centre Farrell could miss the Champions Cup final against Racing 92 if he is found guilty of a dangerous tackle during their semi-final win over Wasps on Saturday.
And Harlequins prop Marler, who had just returned to action following a two-game ban for his inappropriate comments to Wales' Samson Lee, was cited for kicking out at Grenoble hooker Arnaud Heguy during their Challenge Cup semi-final victory on Friday evening.
A low-entry ban is four weeks, which would rule him out of the European Challenge Cup final next month against Montpellier in Lyon.
The entry point for a mid-range offence is eight weeks which would mean he would miss England's summer tour of Australia.
Farrell was shown a yellow card for a dangerous high tackle on Wasps' scrum-half Dan Robson.
The fly-half could face anything from a two to 52-week ban, although he is unlikely to be hit with the most severe penalty.
But even a low or mid-range ban of six weeks could rule Farrell out of the May 14 Champions Cup final in Lyon, where Premiership leaders Saracens will be bidding to be crowned champions of Europe for the first time in their history. Farrell would be up against All Blacks legend Dan Carter, the Racing No 10.
Any longer suspension could also have an impact on Farrell's availability for the Australia tour.
Saturday's match also match saw Wasps replacement Simon McIntyre, who like Farrell was yellow-carded, cited for allegedly kicking England lock Maro Itoje in the 69th minute at Reading's Madejski Stadium.
