Eddie Jones says spectators should "expect the unexpected" with England fielding an experimental starting XV against the Barbarians on Saturday.
The England boss has opted to start Mike Brown, usually a full-back, at wing for the first time since March 2013, while Elliot Daly takes the 15 jersey in his place - moving in from the flanks.
The starting line-up for Saturday's match, shown live on Sky Sports, includes four uncapped players, along with another four among the substitutes and will be co-captained by Harlequins' Chris Robshaw and Leicester's George Ford.
"It's always a bit more difficult [preparing to play the Barbarians], you've got to expect the unexpected," said Jones.
"We don't know exactly how they're going to play. We're a bit in the same position - we've got a lot of new players in the squad so it is one of those interesting games where neither side knows a lot about the other.
"It's a great opportunity to play Daly [at full back], I've always wanted to play him there and it's the right time," he added.
"He's got speed, he's got a great left foot, he's got good game sense and it's also a great opportunity for Mike Brown to show his versatility.
"We've been practising a number of key areas of the game that we felt after the Six Nations we needed to work on - efficiency in the set-piece, efficiency at the breakdown, developing more creative threats in our attack and being smarter in our defence.
"We've worked really hard on those four things and we're hoping to see that come out in the game against the Barbarians."
