Eddie Jones reveals his lighter side ahead of a three-day Oxford camp

England head coach Eddie Jones was in jovial form on Friday after naming his 33-man squad for their three-day training camp in Oxford, revealing captain Dylan Hartley's new 'Butcher' nickname, the squad's shoeshiner and Denny Solomona's refuelling habits.

The Australian kept faith with Northampton hooker Hartley as his England captain for November's upcoming autumn internationals despite the New Zealand-born front row's exclusion from the British and Irish Lions squad for the drawn All Blacks series.

And Jones also joked that teenage prospect Marcus Smith's duties will be limited to polishing first-choice George Ford's boots ahead of the Tests against Argentina, Australia and Samoa, which are all being shown live on Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old Harlequins fly-half has played only 196 minutes of Aviva Premiership rugby, but his 14-point haul while duelling Danny Cipriani in the first defeat of Wasps at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday was evidence of his enormous potential.

And Jones also quipped suitably contrite Sale winger Denny Solomona's absence from the England party should not be for too much longer after being reprimanded for a reported late-night drinking session during the national team's last camp.
