Northampton and England hooker Dylan Hartley set to return

Dylan Hartley is set to return to action for the first time since he was knocked unconscious during England's Grand Slam win over France in March.

Hartley has been sidelined for seven weeks after being knocked out in the closing stages of the 31-21 win in Paris.

The England captain has now returned to full training and has been has been included in Northampton's squad for their Aviva Premiership clash with Gloucester on Saturday.

"He's done a full week and has been through the return-to-play protocols," said Saints coach Alan Dickens.

"He's bouncing around the place and back to his usual self."

Hartley's return to fitness will provide a major boost for England coach Eddie Jones ahead of the summer tour to Australia.

Jones names his squad for the three-Test series on May 22 and has said Hartley will lead the side providing he proves his fitness.

The 30-year-old also missed two months during the autumn after being knocked out in an accidental collision with England team-mate Billy Vunipola in a match against Saracens.
