Samoan Test centre agrees to move from Tigers

Leeds Carnegie have announced the signing of Samoan Test centre Andy Tuilagi from Leicester Tigers. The 21-year-old will sign for the club on a two-year contract, after spending last season on loan at Headingley. The Samoan was a key part of the Leeds team that won promotion back to the Guinness Premiership last season and becomes Carnegie's fifth summer signing.

X-factor

Director of rugby, Stuart Lancaster said: "We are delighted that a young player of the ability of Andy has agreed to stay here on a permanent basis. "He is a player who has got the X-factor that gets crowds on their feet and who team mates want to play alongside." Tuilagi has gained nine caps for Samoa, the latest coming last weekend in their Pacific Nations Cup victory over Fiji. Lancaster added: "He is still only young and he will continue to develop but the fact that he is a full international already speaks volumes for his potential."
