Wallaby winger Dane Haylett-Petty could be out for the season after undergoing bicep surgery.

The Western Force star was already reeling from a court decision this week that confirmed his club would be axed from Super Rugby.

"Best wishes to Dane Haylett-Petty who underwent bicep surgery today. Wishing you a speedy recovery mate!" the Force tweeted.

The 28-year-old winger missed the opening Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks in Sydney with the injury, before returning to play 62 minutes of the second Test for Australia in Dunedin.

He had been hoping to feature for the Wallabies in Perth on Saturday against South Africa.
