Newly-promoted Lyon have completed the signing of France fly-half Frederic Michalak ahead of their return to Top 14.

Michalak has signed a one-year deal with the Pro D2 champions, who are 29 points clear with only three games remaining.

The 33-year-old has been capped 77 times by his country but announced his international retirement at the end of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

He started his career with hometown team Toulouse in 2000 and stayed with them, barring a couple of spells with the Sharks in South Africa, until 2012 when he joined Toulon and enjoyed further domestic and European success.
