Could a smartphone app end the debate over controversial edges in club cricket?
The inventor of Hawkeye is trialling a new system which could revolutionise the sport.
Paul Hawkins has developed a device to detect edges for use in club cricket which he hopes will replicate the capabilities of the 'snickometer' which is employed in international cricket as part of the Decision Review System.
The device - the size of a small coin - can be fixed to a bat and linked to an app on the umpire's smartphone. It could also adjudicate lbw appeals.
