Middlesex CEO Vinny Codrington resigns from his post

Vinny Codrington has insisted the Chris Rogers ticket controversy was not a factor in his decision to resign as chief executive of Middlesex after 18 years in the post.
The 58-year-old says he is looking forward to a fresh challenge having been in his current position since 1997.
He said: "Over the past few years, I have become increasingly aware of my desire to seek a new challenge and now is a good time for me to make that move.
"I have had the most incredible time at Middlesex. It has been a privilege and an honour to have served this great club.
"Being the chief executive of a sporting organisation is emotionally draining in every sense.
“After 18 years, this does catch up with you and that is why I have been considering my position.”
A company co-founded by Australian batsman Rogers was blocked from selling hospitality packages for the Lord's Ashes Test after breaching regulations.
Codrington put the issue down to a "misunderstanding" and "too much enthusiasm and naivety" but denied he has resigned as a result of the incident.
"People may assume that the Chris Rogers ticket affair was a factor in this,” added Codrington.
“I cannot deny that we, as a club, made mistakes on the issue. However, it is not a factor in my resignation, nor was I asked to resign by the club."
