Leicestershire have added to their bowling attack by signing seamer Dieter Klein on a deal until the end of next season.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a successful trial spell with the Grace Road club and took two wickets on his debut in Tuesday's Royal London One-Day Cup match against Lancashire.

Klein had already taken a five-for during a Second XI fixture against MCC Universities and that was enough for the South African to secure his immediate future at Leicestershire.

The medium-fast left-armer has built an impressive record in his home country, taking 154 first-class wickets at 25.99 in just 42 outings.

Klein's white ball record is also good and he has taken 34 wickets in List A and T20 cricket combined at an average under 22.

Leicestershire elite performance director Andrew McDonald said: "Dieter comes with a good pedigree and greatly impressed when playing in our Second XI and training with us.

"We're delighted to have him on board to bolster our bowling roster."
