Torquay midfielder Damon Lathrope is loving life in Devon after moving to the League Two contenders in July last year.
The former Norwich trainee has become a virtual ever-present in the Gulls starting line-up this season, featuring 19 times as the Plainmoor club have risen to within three points of the League Two play-offs. And, both on and off the pitch, Lathrope is delighted with how things have turned out for him since his move to the south west. "I'm really enjoying it at the moment. It helps when the team is doing well and I'm getting to be a big part of it every week but I also love living in Devon which is important because I'm a long way from home," he said. "I've always been confident in my ability, I just needed the opportunity to show that. The gaffer's given me a couple of chances, I've taken them with both hands and now I'm a big part. "Playing games is all you want to do as a footballer and I'm getting to do that. No-one wants to train all week and then go and sit in the stands on a Saturday."Lathrope lapping up Gulls life
