Usain Bolt continues his bid for another Olympic gold medal treble when he defends his 200m title on Thursday at the Rio Games.
The Jamaican sprinter has already won gold in the 100m for the third successive Games and will attempt to follow-up with victories in the 200m and 4x100m relay.
Bolt is targeting a sub-19 second time as he tries to produce yet another sensational feat at the Olympics.
Brit watch
Nicola Adams will continue her role as the standard bearer for women's boxing in Britain when she returns to action in the semi-finals.
Four years ago, the 33-year-old became the first ever female boxing gold medallist in 2012, and she has already collected at least a bronze after winning her opening bout.
Adams will next renew her rivalry with Cancan Ren, the Chinese opponent who she defeated in the London final.
Jade Jones won Britain's first Taekwondo medal at London 2012 and has since risen to world No 1 in her weight category.
The 23-year-old has also collected two European titles and will be a favourite to win gold at the Games.
Alistair and Jonny Brownlee can add more Olympics medals when the men's triathlon competition begins.
Older brother Alistair claimed the gold at London 2012, with Alistair taking bronze, and the GB duo could benefit from the absence of Spain's silver medallist Javier Gomez, who is ruled out with a broken arm.
Britain's canoeing duo Liam Heath and Jon Schofield secured a bronze medal in the K2 200m four years ago and should be among the main contenders in Brazil.
Going for gold
American Ashton Eaton has set his sights on back-to-back decathlon titles, which would equal the achievement of Britain's Daley Thompson, who won gold in 1980 and 1984.
Eaton made a strong start to the competition and should be in contention for a medal in the concluding 1500m event.
In the men's hockey, Argentina and Belgium will be targeting their first ever gold medal in the sport when they meet in the final.
There will be high hopes for Brazil's volleyball pairing of Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt, the men's world champions, as they face Italians Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo in another final.
Don't miss
Set your alarm clock for the early hours of Friday to see Bolt showcase his blistering speed once again over the longer distance.
The 29-year-old is competing in his last ever Olympic Games as he plans to retire next year, so enjoy him while you can.
And make sure you watch the men's 400m hurdles final, which includes Ireland's Thomas Barr after he qualified in first place from his semi-final.
America's Kerron Clement clocked the fastest time at that stage of the event and is gearing up for a gold medal bid.
