Black Caviar's jockey Luke Nolen is in a serious but stable condition in an Adelaide hospital after a fall at Morphettville on Saturday.
Nolen rode the Peter Moody-trained superstar to all bar one of her 15 Group One wins, which included a dramatic success in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2012.
Just 40 minutes before the fall Nolen had partnered Abbey Marie to win the Australasian Oaks but suffered a very heavy spill from Miss Promiscuity in the Robert Sangster Stakes.
He was reportedly conscious and able to move his arms and legs but was complaining of a sore back and pain before being taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital.
It was only in February that Nolen returned following seven months off recovering from back surgery.
After his win in the Oaks Nolen had told www.racing.com: ""It's pivotal.
"I rode in great form last month at home and that's parlayed to Adelaide today."
