The spectacular entrances may be a thing of the past but some of the biggest names in British boxing still know how to get the crowd going before a fight.
We have picked out five of our favourite ringwalks from 2016, with music and emotion mixed together, so take a look back and then vote for your best of the last 12 months...
The entrance to Benn's professional debut had everything. The surname said enough but once those Big Ben chimes that used to greet his father's arrival began, the hairs on the back of the neck rose. Nigel was there but more than happy to let his son make it to the ring alone, with a packed O2 watching on and The Fugees his apt choice of music. Ready Or Not...
The familiar sound of the Z-Cars theme tune and the sight of thousands of Everton fans singing to the Goodison Park rafters provided an emotional cocktail for a world title fight. The sirens signalled 'Bomber' making it out of the tunnel and the rest was a typical Toffees treat. Bellew looked almost too calm and relaxed as he made his way to the ring.
Guess who's back? Both Dre and Chris Jr were. With the O2 crowd booming out their support for a name that is still one of British boxing's biggest. Eubank Jr waited for the Sky Sports Box Office doors to open for him and - of course - his father, a few feet behind him. Charles Martin was to enter the O2 cauldron wearing a crown and holding the IBF world title, but as soon as Joshua entered to a bespoke song created by grime artist and friend Stormzy, it was clear there was going to be a new heavyweight king...
Whyte's ringwalk has become part of British boxing's folklore that fight-by-fight is winning more and more fans. The ominous theme to Jaws begins, the 'Body Snatcher' sways and flows with the current, stepping side-by-side before AC/DC's Back in Black sparks the lights and the entrance. It was lapped up by the Manchester Arena crowd ahead of the showdown with Dereck Chisora on a night when he said he would steal the show...
