It's happening?

It is happening. After years of waiting, nursing a rivalry for near enough a decade, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight on December 11 at the Principality stadium in Cardiff.

Why have we waited so long?

Fury and Joshua, both British heavyweights, both former world champions, have long been linked to fighting. But they held off from actually boxing, unable to come to an agreement. They didn't manage to make the contest for the undisputed crown when they were both reigning champions and then lost their titles to Oleksandr Usyk.

Even the negotiations to finally reach this moment, in the autumn of their respective careers, have been fraught, with Madison Square Garden emerging as a potential venue before the bout was eventually set for the Principality stadium.

Why are promoters feuding?

However Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, has publicly claimed the American cannot be involved.

But with tickets going on sale on Friday it's inconceivable that promotional wrangling could torpedo the fight. It remains on.

Will there be a second fight?

This is a one-fight deal with no rematch clause in the contract. So a second bout is not guaranteed, but that doesn't mean one can't be negotiated. Public demand for it though will depend on what happens in this first fight.

Who will win?

Well, we'll have a better idea around 1.30am on December 12. Fury and Joshua at their peak offered a fascinating blend of styles. In recent bouts Fury has appeared to be the better preserved of the pair but Joshua has always been a very heavy puncher indeed. There's only one way to find out…
