Scott Quigg is supremely confident that he could take away Carl Frampton's title

Scott Quigg has stoked up his rivalry with Carl Frampton by suggesting the Belfast man is the ‘easiest’ world champion to face in a unification clash.

The WBA champion has frequently spoken about his desire to face Frampton and a showdown between the super-bantamweight pair carries even more significance after the Northern Irishman took the IBF title in September.

WBC king Leo Santa Cruz failed to impress while halting Jesus Ruiz last weekend, while another champion Guillermo Rigondeaux was dropped twice in a recent stoppage win over Hisashi Amagasa.

Foremost in Frampton’s plans is a defence against Chris Avalos, but Quigg believes a big domestic clash is the most attractive option in the future and has complete confidence in his ability to win.

The Bury man, who is currently sidelined after hand surgery, told the Toe 2 Toe podcast: “I would want the Carl Frampton fight next.

I rate him as a fighter, I think he’s a very good fighter, but I 100 per cent believe I beat him in every department

“It’s a 100 per cent possible. Frampton and the McGuigans are their own people - they are not tied down to anyone.

“That’s the biggest fight for me, it’s the biggest fight for him, for our profiles and I guarantee 100 per cent I would beat him.

“Style wise, it’s the easiest fight for me out of Frampton, Santa Cruz and obviously Rigondeaux. Out of the three, Frampton stylistically is the easiest fight for me.

“I rate him as a fighter, I think he’s a very good fighter, but I 100 per cent believe I beat him in every department.

“My best beats his best and it’s perfect timing, we’re both world champions. The timing is right for it.”
