Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has fired back in his war of words with Tyson Fury and John Fury.

Lewis (41-2-1-KO32) retired with the WBC belt after beating Vitali Klitschko in 2003 and has just turned 50 - but that did not stop newly-crowned WBA, WBO and IBF world champion Fury (25-0-KO18) from calling him out.

Fury told The MMA Hour: "Lennox Lewis is a hater of Tyson Fury. He's a jealous old man. He's a jealous old man because I'm at the top of the world and he's a has-been.

"He has been a world champion. Great for him. Whenever Lennox Lewis wants to come out of retirement, I'm here waiting for him. I'm the best fighter ever to come out of these shores.

"I don't care how old he is. If he's that good, let him come back and beat George Foreman's record."

Fury's father John (8-4-1-KO2) is a year Lewis' senior and has also previously expressed his interest in taking on the former Olympic champion.

But after hearing of the younger Fury's latest outburst, Lewis posted on social media: "First the father. Now the son? My favourite meal is a two for one. #Unsquashed."

Relations between Team Fury and Lewis took a nose-dive in September when Lewis was accused of jealousy, prompting him to ask: "Jealous of what? Olympic goal medal. British champ. Commonwealth champ. World champion. Undisputed champ. Hall of fame."
