Danny Garcia says he is ready to go to 'war' with Robert Guerrero and become the new WBC welterweight champion.

The undefeated American takes on compatriot Guerrero in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Garcia (31-0-0-KO18) is not only looking to become a two-weight world champion, but also become the first man to win a title vacated by the retired Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The 27-year-old is not known for his trash-talking or spectacular knockouts, but is adamant he has what it takes to become the new welterweight king - with Amir Khan confirmed as the mandatory challenger.

"I'm not the kind of person that talks a lot," Garcia said. "I like to speak with my left hand and my right hand. At the end of the day, all the fans want to see is good fights and they'll appreciate that.

"I always go for the knockout, but we're ready for a war. I don't put any pressure on myself. I just go in there and take it one fight at a time.

"I'm not thinking about my record when I step in the ring, I just want to get the job done round-by-round."

Guerrero (33-3-1-KO18) would become a three-weight world champion with victory having held the IBF super-featherweight and featherweight straps.

"Going up against an undefeated fighter adds motivation to my drive," Guerrero said.

"I want to defeat the undefeated guy, especially with this opportunity. I want to raise everybody's eyebrows.

"We're not going to let the fans down. If the opponent doesn't come to fight, I will. That's just the way I am. Whenever somebody watches me it's always exciting."
