Joe Gallagher says Scott Quigg is already targeting a rematch with Carl Frampton

Scott Quigg is prepared to step up a division to featherweight if it means a rematch with Carl Frampton, says Joe Gallagher.

Quigg lost the world super-bantamweight unification clash with Frampton at the Manchester Arena on Saturday and subsequently underwent surgery on a broken jaw - but his trainer revealed he is already talking about a comeback and is determined to turn the tables on the Northern Irishman.

Gallagher told Sky Sports News HQ: "He came out of hospital yesterday and is in good spirits. For someone with a broken jaw, he can't seem to stop talking at the moment!

We'd go straight in to the rematch. There's talk of it being at Windsor Park over there and that's one Scott Quigg wants first and foremost.

"He's had two plates put in and it'll take three months to recover. I said to him last night that nobody can accuse him of being chinny anymore with a plate in your jaw so there's that one gone!

"Scott's already said he wants the rematch, is hell-bent on the rematch and I think Carl wants to move up to featherweight and fight Leo Santa Cruz. If it means Scott moving up there, following him to get the rematch, then that's what he will do.

"We'd go straight in to the rematch. There's talk of it being at Windsor Park over there and that's one Scott Quigg wants first and foremost - to get back in there and prove to all the haters who are giving him stick that he can beat Carl Frampton. He's 100 per cent convinced after being in there that he can do."
