Roy Jones Jr took just two rounds to beat a fan and deny him pocketing $100,000 prize money.
A total of 1,500 fans entered a competition to fight the 47-year-old former pound-for-pound best, with Vyron Phillips' name being picked out.
The fight took place at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona, and it didn't take long for Jones Jr to hurt 33-year-old Phillips in the first, before it was stopped before the end of the second.
And despite missing out on the prize money, the fan made it clear he wanted Jones Jr to finally call it a day.
"I'd like to see Roy go away from this,'' he said on URShow.tv exhibition. "Maybe, coach. I don't want to see him get hurt.''
Jones (62-9-KO45) admitted before the fight that he has nothing planned with continuing his professional career.
His last fight in December saw Britain's former world cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli beat the American with a fourth round knockout in Moscow, Russia.
It was Jones Jr's fifth fight of 2015, 16 years after starting a legendary professional career than saw him win world titles at middleweight, super-middleweight, light-heavyweight and heavyweight.
