Liam Smith can continue the success of Liverpool's Rotunda ABC by defending his title this weekend, says Tony Bellew.

Bellew sent Goodison Park wild on bank holiday Sunday when he climbed up from a first-round knockdown to knock out Ilunga Makabu in the third and clinch the WBC world cruiserweight title.

His good friend, WBO super-welterweight champion Smith (22-0-1-KO12) was ringside to watch his good friend achieve his childhood dream as well as cheer on his brothers Paul, Stephen and Callum.

Now the attention of the city turns to Smith, who makes the second defence of his crown against Predrag Radosevic (30-1-KO11) at the Echo Arena on Saturday night.

With the possibility of a bout against former divisional kingpin Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez a huge incentive, Smith knows he can not afford to slip up against the Montenegrin challenger.
