Chris Eubank Jr and Kell Brook became embroiled in a war of words on social media on Saturday, as the fall-out to Brook's highly-anticipated Sky Sports Box Office fight with Gennady Golovkin continued.

British champion Eubank Jr was expected to fight Golovkin, but weeks of contract talks did not result in an agreement, allowing Brook to jump the queue.

The WBA Super, WBC and IBF world middleweight champion Golovkin tweeted: 'Up early, time to run. #Respect to @SpecialKBrook for taking this fight. Excited to show the #UK who I am.'
