Joshua Buatsi got the first stoppage win of the Rio Olympics, beating Uganda's Kennedy Katende in the third round

Joshua Buatsi recorded the first stoppage win in Rio 2016 boxing - and you can watch it here.

The Team GB light-heavyweight put Uganda's Kennedy Katende down once before finishing him off and forcing his opponent's team to throw in the towel before the final bell in the 81kg preliminary bout.

It meant Buatsi was the first fighter of these games to win without going to the scorecards and sent a warning out to the rest of the light-heavyweights in Rio.

It was the second magical boxing moment from Team GB so far, with Galal Yafai becoming the first Olympic boxer to win without the use of a headguard in the very first fight of these games on Saturday.

Buatsi, 23, has had to put his degree on the back burner in order to compete at Rio. The Ghanaian-born Londoner will now take on Elshod Rasulov of Uzbekistan in his second fight, in the Round of 16, on Thursday (scheduled time 5.30pm BST).
