Dillian Whyte has claimed Sam Sexton has pulled out of a possible British heavyweight title fight with him, while Dereck Chisora has offered to step in at the last minute if Sexton has indeed withdrawn.
Sexton was widely expected to challenge Whyte for the vacant Lonsdale Belt after Hughie Fury pulled out of a British title fight due to health reasons.
However, the fight has now been thrown into doubt after Whyte sensationally claimed on social media that Sexton would miss the fight due to "lambing" commitments.
He said: "This is the problem with British boxing. There's guys like Lamb (sic) Sexton out there who says he wants to fight, he wants to do this, he wants to do that.
"He's been saying I'm scared of him, that I don't want to fight him, now I agreed to fight him. I even got Eddie [Hearn] to move the fight date from the 8th to the 7th so its suitable for him to fight.
"And now the guy is saying he can't fight because it's lambing season and he's too busy lambing. So sorry to you guys - sorry for letting you down on a fight for the British title but guys like Sam Sexton are destroying British boxing."
Sexton is yet to respond to the claims and, although the British Boxing Board has approved the fight, it has yet to be officially announced.
Former British heavyweight champion Chisora responded to Whyte's claims by offering to take the fight at short notice, if Sexton had indeed pulled out.
"Don't worry man, I'll take his place," Chisora said. "Say 'let's do it' and I'll whoop your ass, it's easy. Easy pickings bro, that's it.
"Tell your boys to holler at my boys and then we'll get it done. Don't worry about Sam, I'll fight you."
