Boxer Caoimhin Hynes recovering after attack in Belfast

Irish amateur boxer Caoimhin Hynes admits he is lucky to be alive after being stabbed in the face in Belfast on Sunday night.
Hynes, who is a product of the Holy Trinity Boxing Club, is recovering in hospital after being attacked by a group of men wearing tracksuits at Donegall Place shortly before 3am.
Hynes was slashed across his left cheek and has undergone surgery at the Ulster Hospital to close the wound.
The 20-year-old will be kept in hospital until Wednesday at least as doctors continue to monitor him.
Following his operation, Hynes posted on Facebook: "I am blessed!! very lucky guy to still be alive - any lower and things could have been a lot different. What a long day this has been, very lucky to have unreal friends, family and definitely girlfriend."
A number of prominent boxing figures including Carl Frampton, Katie Taylor and Tyson Fury have taken to social media to wish Hynes well in his recovery.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland are appealing for anyone with information regarding the attack to contact them at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 165 of 01/05/17. Information can also be passed anonymously via the Independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
