Carl Frampton says Jamie Moore is 'perfect fit' and will confirm new promoter 'very soon'

Carl Frampton says new trainer Jamie Moore is already "the perfect fit" but will not follow it up with a promotional decision until all offers have been put on the table.

The Northern Ireland superstar confirmed his new cornerman via Twitter almost three weeks after his well-documented split from trainer Shane McGuigan, manager Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions.

Frampton met up with Salford trainer, Moore, last week and after a few days believes he has found the man to return him to winning ways and re-establish him among the sport's elite.

"I had a few [trainers] in my head going round to use and if I am honest, I hadn't even thought about Jamie Moore," he exclusively told Sky Sports.

"My dad never gets involved with my career, but he just mentioned It was my dad who suggested him, so I got in touch with Jamie, he came over and we did a few sessions together and that was it.

"We gelled well, I like the atmosphere in the gym and I like the guys around it and I like the way he approaches training, so that was it. Jamie was the first trainer I tried and after a few days, I just started to think 'I don't need to try anyone else'.

"Because of the type of person I am, Jamie is the perfect fit. You need a trainer you can trust and I had one very good trainer in Shane, so I had to find another one. I need one that if things aren't going right, when I get back to the corner, I will hopefully get good advice that I will try and follow."

Frampton admits that he has already had more promotional contact and offers, with Eddie Hearn last week admitting he still has "unfinished business" on their original partnership that ended in 2012.

'The Jackal' feels the split with Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions is perfectly timed to give him "more control" on his career that saw him win world titles at super-bantamweight and featherweight.

"I have been talking to a few people and once the announcement came out it's been pretty busy," he said.

"I want to see the offers on the table - which one is going to be best for me - because I am 30 years old and I don't want to be boxing when I am 34.

"I want a few big fights. 2016 was my best year; I was Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year, I won a lot of other awards, but 2017 was the worse year of my career.

"But I still believe I am a big name in boxing and I deserve the big fights. I hope whichever promoter I go with, they can deliver."

Frampton is expecting to make the announcement "very soon" and wants to fight before Christmas, and get back to winning ways after the Las Vegas loss to Leo Santa Cruz in January.

He admits a third and deciding showdown with the Mexican is top of his hitlist but after his proposed August Belfast 'Homecoming' was called off the night before, he also warned any prospective promoters, he wants to fight in Belfast.

"I still feel I am fresh and a good fighter," he said. "The potential is still there and the support I get is great. I had 5,000 coming to Las Vegas and I honestly never thought I would do that.

"A big thing for me is fighting at Windsor Park and that will be part of the discussion that I have whoever I go with.

"It's important to me that they deliver a fight at Windsor Park and because of the weather, we have a window from April to the beginning of September.

"It is the right time for me to take a little bit more control of my career and I think it's going to be beneficial to me.

"I am not daft, I know what promoters do, but I am the one who makes that decision and I will, very soon."
