Paul Butler and bitter rival Stuart Hall will face off in a world title eliminator as they headline a stacked card at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday.
Ellesmere Port's Butler won via split decision when the pair fought back in 2014 as he snatched the IBF world title away from Hall and the stakes will again be high with victory lining up a shot at the WBA world champion.
On a packed undercard, Rocky Fielding defend his British strap against Commonwealth title holder David Brophy, Ohara Davies takes on Tom Farrell, while there is a battle for local bragging rights between Sean Dodd and Tom Stalker.
Olympians Anthony Fowler and Natasha Jonas get the opportunity to fight on home turf for the first time, as Dereck Chisora features in a warm-up before his shot at the European heavyweight title.
Repeat or Revenge…
Revenge is firmly on the mind of Hall, 37, who is desperate to banish the memory of his close-fought defeat to Butler from three years ago in what could be his final push to regain word honours.
Butler took the IBF bantamweight crown from Hall via split decision in Newcastle on that occasion and now Hall must reverse the result in the Ellesmere Port man's backyard.
For Butler, it will be his first outing under the Matchroom promotional banner and the 28-year-old has vowed to put on a show and set up a shot against the WBA world champion, Doncaster's Jamie McDonnell.
A two-belt super-middleweight clash…
Local favourite Rocky Fielding's first defence of his British super-middleweight title comes against Commonwealth champion David Brophy.
Both fighters have just one defeat on their professional records against elite level fighters in Callum Smith and George Groves respectively and they will hope victory here will lead to a potential crack at world honours.
The Scottish boxer produced a career-best performance last time out in March when he travelled to Australia to defeat Zac Dunn and Brophy will hope to relish going on the road once again.
Ohara's Liverpool conquest…
Hackney's Ohara Davies has once again lined himself up to face the wrath of the city of Liverpool with some heated comments before his fight with Tom Farrell.
The 25-year-old challenges home favourite Farrell for the WBA international super-lightweight title, as he looks to immediately return to winning ways following a stoppage defeat to Josh Taylor.
Davies stopped Merseysider Derry Mathews back in March, and the outspoken Londoner is eager to again silence the city by ending Farrell's unbeaten record.
A fiery local derby…
Birkenhead's Sean 'Masher' Dodd and Liverpool's Thomas Stalker battle for bragging rights as well as the Commonwealth lightweight title.
Dodd is the Cinderella Man who went from a boxer with just the goal of routine and discipline to one who has now claimed two titles and has become a household name.
For Stalker, a decorated amateur who captained his country at the London 2012 Olympics, it has not worked out quite as well in the professional ranks, but now he has the chance to reignite his career.
Fowler and Jonas in maiden hometown bouts…
Olympians Anthony Fowler and Natasha Jonas both get the opportunity to fight in their hometown for the first time as they look to extend their perfect professional records.
Whille Jonas will take on Bojana Libszewska, super-welterweight Fowler will take on tough Dubliner Jay Byrne over six rounds of action.
Byrne has previously taken former Team GB stars Josh Kelly and Felix Cash the full scheduled distance so Fowler will look to improve on their showings against the always game Irishman.
Watch Paul Butler against Stuart Hall, with Rocky Fielding battling David Brophy, Tom Farrell against Ohara Davies and Sean Dodd taking on Tom Stalker, from 7pm this Saturday on Sky Sports Arena.
