Rocky Fielding hopes that victory over David Brophy on Saturday will lead to an opportunity to fight for the European or even a world title.

British super-middleweight champion Fielding takes on Scotland's Brophy, the Commonwealth titleholder, at Liverpool's Echo Arena, live on Sky Sports.

Live Fight Night

The contest will be Fielding's first defence of the British title he won by narrowly beating John Ryder over 12 rounds back in April and the 30-year-old hopes a more conclusive victory over Brophy will take him to the next level.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, Fielding said: "I know Brophy well, we've done many rounds of sparring and he's coming here on the back of a huge win in Australia so he's confident.

"I do believe that I am a step ahead though, and I'm ready to show that on Saturday.

"I've won the British title and although it would be nice to win it outright, I want to push on to the next level and if the opportunity to fight for the European or even a world title comes up, I will take it.

"That is my aim and where I want to go, victory on Saturday will open those doors."

"It is strange without Oliver, who has been with me for seven years, but his absence and what he has been through is only spurring me and the other lads on.

"Jamie was trained by Oliver himself so there are similarities, it has of course been different but I've just had to knuckle down and get on with business."
