Rocky Fielding impressed in front of his home fans with a first round stoppage win over David Brophy.

The British champion Fielding came out firing from the off and eventually a barrage of unanswered punches led to the referee rightfully calling a halt to the contest at the Echo Arena.

In front of his home fans, Fielding immediately got on the front foot and quickly found a home for his powerful right hand.

Brophy was clearly in some discomfort as the punishing blows continued to knock him back in the opening two minutes and soon a heavy right hook had him down on the floor.

The Scot returned to his feet but Fielding was merciless and, after a brief moment on the ropes himself, the 30-year-old bounced into the centre of the ring to back Brophy up before a huge right hook left the Scot unable to continue and rightfully put out of his misery.
