Lara vs Gausha: Erislandy Lara eyes showdown with Demetrius Andrade after Terrell Gausha fight
Tuesday 10 October 2017 13:17, UK
Erislandy Lara is willing to take on Demetrius Andrade if both emerge victorious from their next fights.
Lara, 34, will defend his WBA 'Super' belt against unbeaten American Terrell Gausha this Sunday morning, live on Sky Sports, as part of a tripleheader of super-welterweight world title fights.
The 34-year-old Cuban has struggled to secure big fights since narrowly losing to Canelo Alvarez in 2014, but WBA 'regular' champion Andrade, who faces Alantez Fox on October 21, is one fighter that has called out the skilful technician.
"I am very interested in this fight with Andrade, it is in my sights," Lara told BoxingScene.com.
"He is going to get his wish soon. He can talk to Al Haymon after my fight with Gausha and then we can make it happen.
"I plan on showing another great fight this weekend and making another title defence.
"I will give them the best of me and put on a show for the fans."
Lara's fight with Gausha at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, will be joined by IBF champion Jarrett Hurd taking on Austin Trout, while WBC titlist Jermell Charlo defends against Erickson Lubin.
Watch five world-title fights, including Leo Santa Cruz, Jermell Charlo and Abner Mares, live from America, from 12.30am, Sunday morning, on Sky Sports Main Event.
